COLLECTOR'S PROJECT | ZX550 BROOKSY

adidas Originals Collector's project, is a culture driven campaign which features five of the world’s most dedicated and knowledgeable three stripe collectors. Each private collector is given the chance to design their own classic Original pair of timeless sneakers. The project was launched at the "No6" store in London. The ZX550 Brooksy shoe is a limited edition of 50 pieces worldwide.

Design and Innovation

adidas enthusiast Robert Brooks loves technical running sneakers from the ‘80s and ‘90s.
For the adidas Collectors Project, Robert chose the ZX550, a shoe that eluded his grasp until only recently. The ZX550 was originally released in 1986 and the shoe stood out from other ZX's for its unique out-sole construction.

Robert’s version keeps the original colors of the sole unit and heel tab intact whilst adding his own spin with an earth-colored suede on the upper.

Amplifying one of his favorite running shoe features from this era, the entire heel patch is executed in 3M to ensure the shoe really pop at night.

Materials

The upper is constructed of suede and 3M.
The midsole is made of EVA foam with a TPU stabilizer.
The outsole is a compact poured rubber.
