The upcoming launching of Linsanity Mid only validates the increasing star power of the 26-year old Lin, who is playing in the final year of his contract that pay almost $15 million this season.
Before his partnership with Adidas, Lin also served as an endorser for rival sportswear maker Nike, who capitalized on the player's sudden surge of fame following a series of terrific performances during his brief stay with the New York Knicks.
The Lakers, who brought Lin in a trade with the Houston Rockets last summer, are also believed cashing in on the player's charisma in a market that has roughly 2.5 million Asian-American Television market.
"Los Angeles is the largest Asian-American market, 5 times larger than Houston's," according to Karthick Ramakrishnan of AAPIVoices.com, a data journalism project focusing on Asian-American issues.
