Following the unprecedented global anticipation of the YEEZY BOOST 350 released in a white colorway this past June, Kanye West and adidas Originals now announce the forthcoming global drop of an all black version. The shoe will feature uppers composed of tonal Primeknit: a breakthrough material developed using adidas’ most advanced digital engineering techniques to fit like a second skin. Color-coordinated outsoles leverage adidas BOOST™’s highly responsive properties to offer an unparalleled level of comfort, performance, and style.

Due to extremely limited quantities and high demand, adidas is again evening the playing field by giving its customers the chance to win tickets to buy the exclusive new YEEZY BOOST 350. adidas Originals customers can stand a chance to buy their very own, at a recommended retail price of R2999.00 each, by attending the Yeezy Boost 350 release at the adidas Originals stores in Menlyn Shopping Centre in Pretoria, and Canal Walk shopping centre in Cape Town, as well as Shelflife in Cape Town.

“We wanted to offer everyone interested in owning a pair, a fair opportunity to get their hands on one,” says Ricole Green, Brand Activation Manager for adidas Originals South Africa. The release will happen through a ticket raffle release system, with tickets being drawn at random on the day at 2pm. Quantities are limited and shoe sizes cannot be guaranteed. T & Cs apply. “We urge the public not to be late as anyone joining the queue after the 2pm cut off time, will not receive a raffle ticket.”

T & Cs

* A line will form outside the adidas stores in Menlyn Shopping Centre in Pretoria and Canal Walk in Cape Town, behind the dedicated YEEZY BOOST 350 signage and line.

* There are only 24 units per store available from Menlyn Shopping Centre and Canal Walk.

* This line will be closed for joining by 2pm of Saturday the 22nd of August.

* 350 Official YEEZY BOOST 350 tickets will be issued to the members of this queue only at 2pm Saturday the 22nd of August, and nobody else. No tickets will be issued to anyone joining the queue after 2pm.

* Only one ticket will be issued to each member of the queue.

* No discount or pre allocation of product is allowed for adidas staff – they have to join the live raffle.

* Tickets will be drawn randomly by a member of adidas staff, and the numbers read out loud.

* The corresponding number that has been handed out to the person standing in the queue will then be invited into the adidas store for their opportunity to purchase one pair of YEEZY BOOST 350 only. They will need to pay cash or credit card only. No lay buys or stock holds will be accepted.

* The YEEZY BOOST 350 will be sold at a recommended retail price of R2999.00 each

* Only the queue participant that has had their number called out may enter the store to purchase the YEEZY BOOST 350. The tickets are non-transferable and may not be sold or exchanged for cash.

* Winning ticket holders will be escorted into the store, two at a time, until all ticket holders have had the chance to buy a pair of YEEZY BOOST 350.

* The queue participant whose number has been read has to make their presence known as their number has been read, failure to do so within 5 minutes will result in forfeiture and another number will be read for another participant in the queue.

* Numbers will be called out until all units have been purchased, at which stage an announcement will be made and the purchasing will end.

Following on the launch of ZX FLUX in 2014 which saw adidas Originals producing The New Collectors, a series of short films focusing on the theme of creative influences, the latest ZX FLUX Infinite Possibilities campaign puts the spotlight on encouraging a new generation of South Africans to embrace the power of their creativity.

The campaign launches with the ZX FLUX short film ‘What You See Is what I Feel’ which depicts the journey of five South African creatives and the process they go through to bring their creative passions and ideas to life.

The film acknowledges that to be a creative is not something you choose – it chooses you. It further celebrates the artistry, finess and sheer dedication it takes for creatives to commit to their own creative process, to embrace its progressive stages and to celebrate the infinite possibilities when they allow it to flow.

The five local creatives featured in the short film include tattoo artist Tyler B Murphy, typography designer Jordan Metcalf, street artist Fuzzy Slipperz, professional dancer Robyn Brophy and music producer Peach Van Pletzen.

While following each individual’s unique perspective, the film tells a collectively relevant story and takes viewers on a journey through the creative process – from the optimism and excitement of a blank canvas, through the inevitable moments of self-doubt, and finally into the celebration and personal fulfilment of expressing your creativity into something completely unique.

We are hoping that other creatives will watch this and be encouraged to pursue their passion without fear.

Asked about why the film was tied in with ZX FLUX, Ricole Green, adidas Originals spokesperson, says: “It was the perfect fit. The ZX FLUX silhouette is literally a blank canvas and the number of fabric and creative executions it allows for has given an infinite number of possibilities for sneaker fans to express their creative flair. ”
